The SmartElex VL53L4CD High Accuracy Distance Sensor Breakout is a compact and precise distance sensor built on STMicroelectronics’ advanced VL53L4CD Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology.

It uses a 940nm VCSEL infrared laser to measure the time it takes for light to reflect off a target, providing accurate distance readings from 1mm to 1300mm with millimeter-level resolution.

Featuring I2C communication, this sensor is easy to interface with microcontrollers and development boards—no soldering required.

Designed to operate between 2.6V and 3.5V, the SmartElex VL53L4CD offers a fast read rate of up to 100Hz and an 18° field of view, making it perfect for applications in robotics, automation systems, and smart IoT devices where reliable short-range distance measurement is essential.
